Lottie previewer.

Someone sent you a .json and you need to see it — now. Drop it here to preview, scrub and inspect the file, test it on light, dark or transparent backgrounds, and convert it to GIF or video for sharing anywhere Lottie does not play.

🧩Drop a Lottie .json file

Preview, scrub, inspect — then convert to GIF or video · nothing is uploaded

How it works

1

Drop the .json

Any Lottie or Bodymovin export. The file is parsed and played locally with the official lottie-web renderer.

2

Inspect & scrub

Frame rate, dimensions, duration, layer count at a glance; a scrubber for frame-perfect review; speed and background controls.

3

Convert to share

Export a GIF (up to 400px, perfect for Slack and docs) or an MP4/WebM video of one full loop.

Why use this tool

Frame-accurate scrubbing — drag through the timeline to catch glitches, check in/out points, and review easing exactly like a reviewer should.
Real background testing — checkerboard, dark or any custom color — because a logo animation that only works on white is a bug you want to catch now.
Spec panel — fps, frame count, duration, dimensions, layers and asset count — the answers engineering will ask for.
GIF & video conversion — turn the .json into universally-playable formats for clients, docs and social.
Local & private — files are parsed and rendered in your browser only.

Lottie is how modern motion design ships — tiny .json files that render natively in apps and websites. The catch: double-click one and your computer shows you text, not motion. This previewer is the missing "open" button: it plays the file with the same renderer production apps use, gives you a scrubber and spec panel for proper review, and — because half the time you just need to show someone — converts it to a GIF or video that plays absolutely anywhere.

For logo work the workflow is a loop: we deliver Lottie files with our custom logo animations precisely because they stay razor-sharp at any size and integrate into apps and sites in one line. Preview deliveries here, hand the GIF to stakeholders, and ship the .json to production. Building your own motion instead? Frequently asked questions

The preview is blank — why?

Usually the animation uses external image assets that were not embedded at export time. Re-export from After Effects/Bodymovin with "include assets in json" enabled. Files with embedded or vector-only content play perfectly.

What are the GIF export limits?

Up to 400px on the long edge, 15fps, and the first 8 seconds — the practical ceiling where GIFs stay shareable instead of becoming 40 MB bricks. Need bigger? Export the video instead.

Will the video have a transparent background?

No — video codecs used by browser recording do not carry alpha reliably, so video exports composite onto your chosen background color. The GIF export preserves the checkerboard-transparent look only in the sense of your chosen backing; for true alpha, use the Lottie itself.

Can I edit the animation here?

This is a previewer and converter. For editing vector animations, our free SVG studio is the sister tool; Lottie editing itself happens in After Effects.

Is my file uploaded?

No — parsing, playback and both exports run entirely in your browser.
