How it works

1

Drop your logo

PNG, JPG, SVG or WebP. A square logo with some breathing room converts best, but any shape works.

2

Tune the look

Pick a transparent, white or brand-color background and adjust padding — the live previews show exactly how each size will render.

3

Download the pack

One ZIP with favicon.ico, every PNG size, the web manifest and a README. Paste the snippet into your <head> and you\u2019re done.

Why use this tool

True favicon.ico — a real multi-size ICO file (16, 32 and 48 pixels in one), not a renamed PNG — so legacy browsers and Windows shortcuts behave.
Apple & Android ready — the 180px Apple touch icon and 192/512px Android Chrome icons, with transparent logos automatically given a solid backing where iOS requires it.
Copy-paste snippet — the exact <link> tags and web manifest reference, ready for your HTML head.
100% private — conversion happens entirely in your browser — your logo is never uploaded to a server.
Sharp at every size — high-quality canvas scaling keeps small sizes crisp instead of muddy.

A favicon is the small icon browsers show in tabs, bookmarks, history and search results — and in 2026 it is not one file but a small family of them. Browsers want a classic favicon.ico, iOS wants a 180-pixel Apple touch icon, Android and PWAs want 192 and 512-pixel Chrome icons declared in a web manifest. This free favicon generator produces the complete, correctly-named set from a single logo upload, so your brand looks intentional everywhere from a Chrome tab to an iPhone home screen.

It pairs naturally with the rest of our free toolbox: if your logo still sits on a white square, run it through the background remover first; if you only have a raster file, the PNG to SVG converter will give you a scalable master. And when the tab icon is sorted, the next upgrade your brand deserves is motion — try the free logo animator or have our studio craft it properly.

Frequently asked questions

What sizes does a favicon need in 2026?

The practical set is favicon.ico containing 16, 32 and 48 pixels, PNGs at 16 and 32 pixels, a 180-pixel Apple touch icon, and 192 and 512-pixel icons referenced from a web manifest. This tool generates all of them at once.

Is my logo uploaded to your server?

No. The entire conversion runs in your browser using the canvas API. Your file never leaves your computer, which also makes the tool extremely fast.

Why does my transparent logo get a white background on the Apple icon?

iOS does not support transparency in touch icons — it would show black. The tool automatically backs the Apple icon with white (or your chosen color) so it always looks right on an iPhone home screen.

Where do I put the files?

Upload everything from the ZIP to the root of your website (the same folder as index.html), then paste the provided snippet into the <head> of your pages.

Can I use an SVG logo?

Yes — SVG input works and usually gives the sharpest results, since it scales losslessly before rasterizing to each icon size.
